Movie Review: Wonder Woman
Wonder Woman had the promise of being DC Comics blockbuster that wasn’t Batman nor Superman But Wonder Woman had a great beginning but leading to the second half this movie seemed like a drama between star-crossed lovers. We see the development of Princes Diana, daughter of Hypolita, Queen of Thymiscara, given life by the god Zeus. Diana wants to defeat Ares, god of war and half brother. Chris Pine did a great job but the constant cheers from the audience when it was his part drowned out the talking/volume from the surround sound theatre.
This movie deserves a B- but I am glad DC Comics tried and I don’t think it will be a flop, just a narration from Diana. Eventually Steve Trevor was lost and by the way, this movie was set in the 1940s according to my sources. The second half saw Steve finally admitting an army leader shed his mortal image and become Ares, whose existence he denied, not buying the stories of gods and supeer-powered beings.
We didn’t see cameos but we did have humour and the story was narrated by Women Women in 2017, preparing a way for November’s Justice League, finally, and even my co-worker wants to see Justice League more than any other movie in recent consciousness, maybe more than The Avengers movies, past, present and future. This movie was good but like i said before, had a rough first half. But Gal Gadot looks pretty, not beautiful and did they have to kill Robin Wright? What a calamity.
