Movie Review: Sonic The Hedgehog
Sega would be proud, this movie was solid platinum. I have to be honest, I never expected the Sonic the Hedgehog movie, in 2020, to be good. James Marsden was a great actor in this film and Jim Carrey’s comeback was awesome. Kudus to Ace Ventura back in the 1990s. It stars someone who sounds a lot like Grant Gustin, aka The Flash on the CW voicing the hero of the film. I am going to Google it when I get to work tomorrow but for now, I am blown away.
Sonic is a blue hedgehog with green eyes and blue skin with his caregiver, an old owl lady, and yes, I said Owl. She has been taking care of him his whole life and one day their house got infiltrated so he was sent by her to run away, run far away to safety using magic rings. He ended up on earth under the care of a man, Tom, who was also a police officer in this, a small town.
Next thing you know he gets discovered by Dr. Robotnik, a maniac who wants money and power and fame. He gets a taste of that and his drones almost kills Tom, his wife and Sonic. They failed. Eventually instead of ratting him out, the neighbours embrace Sonic and Tom is now made a part of the family and Robotnik is now on another planet. Good for families, no profanities, clean and wholesome. Great job and welcome back Jim Carrey! It’s been a while!
