Movie Review: Justice League Dark: Apokolips War

DC Comics rules TV and animated film genes of it’s kind. So why the hell is this movie is one of the worst animated films ever made? It starts off with Superman and his ego telling the Justice League team, the wider team that it is imminent that Darkseid will attack soon and not 1, 000 years from now and take out the team and the world. The Justice League members are sceptical of the nature of the plan but Superman doesn’t care.

Eventually the team loses, big time and the world as we know it, and the future up to thirty two years later is history. Darkseid rules supreme and Lex Luther, a Justice League member at the beginning of this film and this version of DC switches back to being a lackey for Darkseid. Or is he? He has been sending information to Lois Lane secretly for months so the league could come up with a way to defeat Darkseid with it.

The film sees a black Starfire, just like the Netflix series has with Anna Diop in the role. Consantine is voiced by Matt Ryan, yes, the same guy who plays it in live action mode in his own series as well as Legends of Tomorrow on the CW. Constantine, to me is underrated. He should have had his show on the CW. It could have lasted instead of having it out in the wilderness on NBC. It turns out that

The Flash went back in time to save his mom from being murdered causing Flashpoint, a rift in time and a ripple effect causing an alternate timeline, one where Darkseid is ruler and Batman is brainwashed into becoming his second in command with Cyborg being an oracle and somewhat sentient. Eventually the team survives and The Flash is forced into making a counter-Flashpoint to undo his mistake, wiping the slate clean.

It won’t be perfect but at least it would stop Darkseid from becoming a dictator and having many deaths. So said so done. I thought they would all go back to the past and sooner to when Superman announced taking the fight to Darkseid, preventing the chaos but DC made this gamble and in my opinion, lost. Walk good!
